Hungary's President Áder Revokes 13 Citizenships
President János Áder has stripped another 13 naturalised Hungarians of their citizenship, as they provided false information in their applications. Five of them come from Ukraine, and four each from Serbia and Romania. Reports have indicated that Hungarian citizenship is in effect for sale in neighbouring countries, particularly Ukraine and Romania, as Hungarian-appointed officials take bribes to certify that the applicant speaks Hungarian.

Áder withdrew the citizenship of five other persons in June.

The Immigration Office confirmed that Hungarian citizenship may be revoked only if the person in question intentionally misleads authorities in providing personal or family data.
