Vive La France! Piaf - 100, Margaret Island Budapest, 23 July
Following the James Bond 60 and the Soundtrack concerts around the world, this year, a French theme will continue the highly successful series. The Vive la France! Symphonic soundtrack-concert pays tribute to the French cinema, as well as the soundtracks of films about France.

The program features such well known Oscar award winning composer hits such as Maurice Jarre, who worked together with David Lean (Lawrence of Arabia, Doctor Zhivago), Michel Legrand (the Umbrellas of Cherbourg) and Alexandre Desplat (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button). The present selection of movies shows the beauty of Paris (Perfume: The story of a murderer, the Da Vinci Code), French musicals (Les Misérables, Miss Saigon), and songs from the eternal film, The Pro and the Moulin Rouge will also be heard.

The concert culminates with a separate thematic block to commemorate the birth of Edith Piaf 100 years ago. The special guest of the evening is popular international French singer, Élodie Frégé paying tribute to the memory of the greatest French pop singer who has ever lived. The young charming singer songwriter is lead vocalist for Nouvelle Vague, a band well-known in Hungary, a real audience favorite, who will perform for first time on the Open-air Stage at Margaret Island.
