OperaSziget @ Sziget Fesztival Budapest, 12 – 16 August

It is the third time for the Hungarian State Opera to prove that the genre of opera is for everyone. Following the success of the previous two years, a personage no smaller than William Shakespeare is to help the artists of the Opera as the next season is dedicated to the memory of the English playwright.
The programme entitled CROSSOPER – A Shakespeare Quiz can be seen at the Fidelio Classical and Jazz Stage every day at 9.15 p.m. between 12 and 16 August. Visitors to the island are awaited by quizmaster András Hábetler (bass-baritone). His partners in crime are opera singers Beatrix Fodor, Bori Keszei, Lúcia Megyesi Scwartz, Orsolya Hajnalka Rőser, Gergely Boncsér and László Szvétek.
The show features popular melodies from operas and musicals by Mozart, Puccini, Rossini, Bernstein, Gershwin and many more. The Chamber Ensemble of the Hungarian State Opera is conducted by Géza Köteles, the performance is directed by András Aczél.
