Hospitals In Hungary Get CT, MRI X-Ray Machines
A total of 85 hospitals will receive Ft 39 billion worth of CT, MRI and X-ray machines from EU funds. The average age of CT machines will fall from 5.8 years to 3.7 years and that of MRI equipment from 5.5 years to 3.5 years. The arrival of 300 digital X-ray machines will make X-ray films obsolete. As all new acquisitions will replace existing equipment, the number of machines will not be higher, but the modernisation will expand their capacities by 15-20%.

It is unclear who will operate these machines at several locations, as there is a lack of experts, due to emigration, according to Radiology Association president András Palkó.
