Korean Film Festival, On Until 14 November
Thanks to the Korean Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korean Film Festival has been held every year in Hungary since 2007. It started out under the name of ’Korean Film Week’. Apart from one year, the event met with increasing interest from year to year, and the number of films aired grew parallel to that. In 2014 – because of its size – the event was renamed as ’Korean Film Festival’, and this year brought a whole new concept of screenings to it.

This year’s festival takes place at three movie theatres in Budapest and in three other Hungarian cities. Viewers can watch 20 Korean movies at altogether 38 screenings, in Korean with Hungarian and English subtitles.

On the other hand, this year’s film repertoire is the result of a one-year long preparation process, during which 2000 Hungarian movie fans filled out a questionnaire in an opinion poll, in order for us to be able to bring a selection of films that truly reflects the taste of Hungarian viewers.

This way, on 10-14 November, there will be a chance to see those pieces of atmospheric, emotionally rich and suggestive Korean film-making that are bound to fascinate the Hungarian audience.

The festival features films from many genres: costume adventure movie, action, drama, thriller, romantic and family comedy, gangster movie, and animation film. This way, we hope that every generation will find their bit.

A special web page has been launched for the event at www.koreafilm.hu.

The page will not be removed even after the festival has ended, but will continue to give a chance for fans to read film descriptions and watch movie trailers.

Venue: 1124 Budapest, Csörsz u. 49-51.
