Births, Deaths Up In Hungary In Jan-Oct

The number of births and deaths in Hungary rose during the first ten months of 2015 on an annual basis, but the death rate outstripped the number of births, the Central Statistical Office said. Hungary’s population declined by 33,291 people during the first ten months, a 19.3% increase over the same period in 2014. There were 76,531 births in January-October, 0.5% more than during the same period in 2014.
Births increased in six of the ten months and were down in four with the biggest decline registered in July.
The number of deaths was 109,822, up by an annual 5.5%.
The death rate was higher in January-April, lower in May-June, higher in July-August and lower in September-October compared to the same period in 2014.
The number of marriages went up by an annual 16% to 40,845 during the period.
