Hungary Tax Authority To Cut More Than 1,000 Staff
Hungary’s National Tax and Customs Authority (NAV) will reduce headcount by 5%, cutting staff from 22,442 to 21,320, NAV chief András Tállai said. Tállai was appointed head of NAV early in January, after lawmakers voted to transform the authority from an independent body into a central office operating directly under the economy minister. At the time of his appointment, he said that NAV would be restructured within six months.
