Bakondi: Migrants Arriving In Hungary Not Syrian
A new record number of migrants have turned up in Hungary this year but they are not Syrian, Afghan or Iraqi, the prime minister’s chief security advisor told public television late on Tuesday.

György Bakondi told news channel M1 that 119 migrants tried to cross into Hungary on Monday, the second time this year that more than one hundred migrants have made the attempt.

He said 70- 80% apply for asylum after being caught.

At the same time, there are now more police and soldiers patrolling the border and they are making use of thermal cameras and drones, among other surveillance equipment, Bakondi said, adding that Hungary is ready to help Macedonia and Bulgaria by providing both equipment and personnel to protect their borders.
