Big Boys Fun With Real Guns: Indoor Shooting In Budapest
Regular patrons of The Caledonia Scottish Pub and Becketts Irish Bar got together recently for a Saturday afternoon out with a difference. Courtesy of Farkas Zoltan – best known for being the man behind the bar at The Caley – a mini bus full of excited (yet slightly nervous) guys set off for a few hours shooting at an indoor range in Budapest.

The shooting range itself is impressive and very professional - architecturally very Eastern European but equipped with modern extraction and lighting. After being put through their safety instructions and fitted out with safety glasses and rather fetching protective ear muffs, the squad were allowed to try out four weapons.

First up was a Gloc 17, then the Smith and Wesson, followed by a more serious looking Ak-47 and finishing off with the thunderous Remington shotgun. An enthusiastic Duncan Graham clearly enjoyed the afternoon out, ”It was exciting and a lot of fun”, he explained. ”I'm not so sure that it's a good idea to allow Declan (Becketts owner) and Patrick (Caledonia owner) to learn to shoot a double barrelled shot gun. I'll certainly pay my bills.”

The experience is not just aimed at visiting stag/hen groups as Zoli explained. ”I also want to invite companies and groups of friends who live here in Budapest to enjoy the experience. Most people don't know this exists and can be something a little different to do.” For more information visit www.stagshoot.com or visit The Caledonia Pub and speak to Zoli.
