Budapest To Host Intl Conference On Alzheimer’s Disease
Budapest will host a major international conference on Alzheimer’s Disease between April 21 and 24, an organiser said. The conference will bring together around 1,000 delegates including prominent health professionals and experts in dementia from more than 70 countries,

There are more than 7 million people living with dementia in Europe and around 200,000 in Hungary. According to estimates, the number of people living with dementia will be around 135 million around the world by 2050.

Among dementiarelated diseases the most common is Alzheimer’s, accounting for 60- 70% of all dementia-related diseases. Alzheimer’s occurrence among women is twice as common as among men.

The conference aims to explore ways of promoting awareness and action on dementia on an international, as well as on a local level.
