Home Appliances, Consumer Electronics Sales Edge Down

Sales of home appliances and consumer electronics fell by an annual 1.2% to 121.4 billion forints (EUR 384.4m) in the first quarter, market researcher GfK said. Sales of small home appliances rose 14.6% and sales of big home appliances were up by 9.4%.
Sales in the telecommunications segment rose 1.6%, lifted by an, albeit underwhelming, 4.6% increase in sales of smartphones.
Sales of IT products declined almost 16%. Sales of entertainment electronics grew by 4%, but photography sales declined 3.6%.
