Museum Festival, National Museum, 21 - 22 May
Annual May Museums’ Festival features 120 Hungarian museums which will bring along presentations about their museums to the courtyard of the National Hungarian Museum for two days. Many of museums’ presentation run free workshops or “feel and touch” exhibitions. The one of Military museum is an absolute hit every year not only among youngsters but among adults as well.

Festival mood is created by musical bands and Operette artists performing free concerts non-stop for two days in the Museum Garden.

Do not overlook the main benefit of the festival beyond musical programmes and exhibitions: entrance to the National Hungarian Museum on these two days is free.

Opening hours:

Saturday 21. May: museum garden. 9.00-22.00, museum: 10.00-22.00,

Sunday 22. May  museum garden: 9.00-22.00, museum: 10.00-18.00.

 Admission is free.

This year the event’s main theme will be RE:PL(A)Y: May Festivals in the 19. century.

Lots of exhibits and activities for kids. You can also explore the museum building from basement to attic.
