New Record For Budapest Airport

The number of passengers travelling through Budapest’s international airport topped 1 million in May, the highest ever for that month, it was announced yesterday. Traffic was up 13.4% to 1.016 million passengers last month and was 12% higher at 4.17 million for the first five months.
Budapest Airport CEO Jost Lammers was earlier quoted as saying that growth in passenger traffic would be 5-6%, below the double-digit growth of previous years, and that total numbers could reach 12 million by 2018.
Monthly traffic exceeded 1 million in each of the months from July to September last year, boosting the annual figure to 10 million.
