Parragh Says Hungarian Economy Needs More Skilled Workers

The Hungarian economy needs more skilled workers and technicians, László Parragh, president of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MKIK), said. Vocational guidance with onsite training is currently missing in Hungary, he told a conference on vocational training organised by the PDSZ teacher union and Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
Employees need to be acquainted with modern production methods, he said, adding that basic knowledge is not sufficiently broad while the training structure is deficient.
He complained that the higher-education system was too rigid while lifelong learning was not typical.
