Road Haulage Tracking And Electronic Tills Boost Govt Revenue By HUF 420BN
The introduction of an electronic road haulage tracking system and the mandatory connection of tills to the tax office have raised the Hungarian state’s revenue by 420 billion forints (EUR 1.35bn) over two years, the economy ministry said. The road haulage tracking system and electronic tills have not only raised direct tax revenues, they have also boosted revenues from excise fees and fines.

In the first five months of the year, officials from the National Tax and Customs Office (NAV) conducted 22,000 inspections among companies using online tills, levying 403 million forints of fines and uncovering 563 million forints of tax debt.

As part of the road haulage tracking system, 15,000 inspections were conducted where officials levied fines of 64.5 million forints and uncovered 6.8 billion forints of concealed due taxes.
