St Ephraim Male Choir In St Stephen’s Basilica, 19 June
Saint Ephraim Male Choir and their guests are inviting all their friends to enter the refreshing and enchanting realm of Byzantine music in an exceptionally beautiful venue, the St Stephen's Basilica in Budapest. This is going to be the fifth season of the series which has grown to be an integrate part of our lives. Saint Ephraim Male Choir is eager to discover lesser-known territories of the vast domain of Eastern Christian music and to deliver these gems to the audience.

The closing concert of the fifth season will take place on 19th June at 8 pm.

Tamás Bubnó, the artistic director of Saint Ephraim Male Choir, compiled the programme of the closing event at the feast of Pentecost (19 June 2016) by taking the wish of the audience into consideration.

The artistic and personal qualities of Abeer Nehme (Lebanon) had a lasting effect both on the Choir and on the audience so it is but natural that everybody wanted to hear her again – as soon as possible. Therefore, the fifth season of Orientale lumen will be concluded with a concert of Abeer Nehme and Saint Ephraim Male Choir, and they will be joined by Balázs Szokolay Dongó on various wind instruments.

The programme will feature music from ancient Christian times and from various cultures: Aramaic, Georgian, Coptic, Armenian, Slavic, Syriac, Byzantine and Cretan music will be performed at the concert, a real joyous celebration of Pentecost.

And, according to ‘tradition’, the audience will also have the opportunity to sing at the concerts.

Tickets - adult: 3500 Ft, Student/pensioner 2500 Ft – can be bought via www.jegymester.hu or on the premises.
