Csángó Festival, Jászberény, 19 - 24 July
The Hungarian Jászság Folk Ensemble was established in 1971. The members of the group live in Jászberény, which is a town 80 kilometers far from the Hungarian capital city, Budapest. In the beginning of the ’90s, the Csángó Festival was the first to open the doors to the minority cultures of surrounding countries.

The Csángó Festival was born from this invitation in 1990. By these days the festival is visited by thousands of people, because of the several colorful programs the festival organizes every year.

During daytime there is a folk art fair in the Margaret Island. This time the festival receives 4 foreign groups beside the Hungarian folkdance ensembles.

On Wednesday (20 July) evening the Georgians, Serbs, Turks and Ukrainians introducing themselves within the framework of the Gala.

On the Gala of Thursday (21 July) night Ágnes Herczku and the band will ensure the music that will be followed by a breathtaking Hungarian Folkdance.

The third Gala (22 July) is a selection of the show from a nation-wide television competition called ’Fölszállott a páva’ that won the ensemble in 2012.

On Sunday there will be a procession where all the participants take part in that follows the „Hungarian soul” on stage.

The festival will say goodbye with a firework on Saturday night.
