Uber Complains To EU About Hungary
Ride hailing site Uber has officially filed a complaint with the European Commission against a Hungarian regulation in force since July that banned the company’s services in the country.

The company aims to return to Budapest, where it attracted 160,000 users and 1,200 drivers since it began its service in late 2014.

Rob Khazzam, Uber’s general manager for Central Europe, told the Associated Press news agency that “We want to ensure that people in Hungary have access to a service that is available in almost all other EU countries”.

Uber ceased its service on July 24, the day legislation came into force that would have allowed authorities to suspend the licenses of Uber drivers and block the website.
