Budapest Bus Drivers Begin Protest
Budapest bus drivers have begun a petition drive and are refusing to carry out some of their duties after one of their colleagues was heavily injured in an attack on Wednesday.

At the urging of the United Transport Union, drivers will no longer enforce the rule whereby passengers must board buses only at the front door, until the bus companies guarantee safe working conditions, said union president Gábor Nemes.

A driver was assaulted on Wednesday on the 95 route when he told a group to buy tickets. They then attacked him with pieces broken from passenger seats.

He was taken to hospital, but his injuries are not severe.
