Siófok Welcomes Families, Not Partiers
The mixture of tourists arriving in Siófok has changed due to the city’s policy, mayor of the town at Lake Balaton Róbert Lengyel said at a press conference on Tuesday. The aim was to attract families, he underlined.

Taxi drivers and local service providers also confirmed that they had “less young Dutch people who pioneered in partying and hooliganism”, Lengyel highlighted.

Another aim was to increase public safety, especially on the promenade Petõfi sétány. A company has established a professional checking and entry system on the promenade, Lengyel said.

The number of crimes on the notorious promenade has dropped to one quarter of what it was previously, the mayor stressed.
