Invitel Gets HUF 1.95 bln EU Grant For Broadband
Hungarian telco Invitel has been awarded a HUF 1.95 bln European Union grant for expanding its broadband internet service network, the company announced yesterday, according to reports.

The investment will be carried out in approximately 100 Hungarian settlements. As the result of the expansion, bandwidth will be elevated by a minimum of 30 Mbit/s.

Invitel is committed to helping clients gain fast internet connections and digital television services, Invitel CEO David Blunck was reported as saying. He added that Invitel is willing to bring such services to areas where they were not available previously.

Invitel is seen continually developing its network through projects in the upcoming months, using both own resources and EU funds. By the end of last year, the company was providing broadband internet services to a total of 600,000 customers.
