Hosszú Urges Gyárfás To Resign
Three-time Olympic, and multiple world and European swimming champion Katinka Hosszú urged Hungarian Swimming Federation president Tamás Gyárfás to resign in an open letter on Tuesday.

In a statement on her Facebook page, Hosszú wrote that recent comments by Gyárfás caused her to speak out.

Rejecting his claim that “everything is okay between us,” she wrote that Gyárfás told her to stop swimming in 2008 and called him the most harmful factor in Hungarian swimming.

It is unacceptable, Hosszú continued, that the federation takes credit for the results and work of the swimmers, but does not admit that “the whole system is organised not for swimmers, but for the federation’s interests.

Hosszú, who trains outside of Hungary, says she is happy that she was not training with the federation this year.

The federation considers the accusations unfounded.
