Britannica Students Shine At International Mathematics Competition
Students of Britannica International school have done remarkably well at the most recent Math Olympiad in QSI Bratislava, where they have managed to score high positions despite the strong competition.

Math Olympiad is an annually held academic competition at QSI Bratislava where more than 300 students gather from Central European international schools to demonstrate their mastery of mathematical skills. Teams are solving problems in the content areas of the following: Ratios and Proportional Relationships, Number Systems, Expressions and Equations, Geometry, Statistics and Probability.

As Mr Andor Spisák, Head of Mathematics of Britannica International School highlighted:

“I think it necessary to stress that these results are a landmark in the learning and teaching of Mathematics at Britannica on the one hand, on the other hand it also means that Mathematics at Britannica has established itself among the top 4 Schools in Central Europe, which is not only a huge step forward, it also carries the obligation to plan more consciously for success in future. In this sense, a new chapter has begun in the life of the Mathematical community of Britannica.

He added: “It is perfectly justified to say that among all 13 participating schools with 165 groups, our Schools has shown the best performance. It is important to raise awareness of this, because it shows that long years of hard work do pay off.”

Britannica students won the overall first place prize in the Year 6 (aged 10) and Year 9 (aged 13) class category and second place prize in the Year 7 (aged 11) class category. Furthermore our students received individual prizes of two gold and one silver medals.
