Outgoing Swimming Federation President Gyárfás Stays As Tournament Organiser
Outgoing Swimming Federation president Tamás Gyárfás can stay on as a member of the organising committee of the world aquatics championships to be held in Budapest next summer.

Development Minister Miklós Seszták says Gyárfás’s experience and foreign contacts are needed. Gyárfás has headed the Hungarian Swimming Federation since 1993 but was obliged to leave in December after Hungary’s most successful swimmer Katinka Hosszú and several other swimmers turned against him.

He remains acting head of the federation until the general meeting meets in January to elect a new president.
