Govt To Launch ‘National Consultation’ On Topical Issues
The government will contact voters by mail to canvass their opinion on topical issues identified by the prime minister in a recent state of the nation address, ruling Fidesz group leader Lajos Kósa told public radio.

The government’s questions will focus on “protecting the scheme to reduce utility bills and jobs”, fighting EU common tax policy, and Hungary’s “fight for the right to detain illegal entrants”, Kósa said.

The initiative is aimed at building consensus on those topics, he said, arguing that appropriate responses to current challenges cannot be provided unless “we fight for our interests together with Hungary’s voters in very close unity”.
