Hungary Scores Well In Location Survey
Hungary has been ranked fifth in terms of the average value of investment projects in terms of job creation in IBM’s Global Location Trends annual survey for 2017.

For the sixth year in a row, Ireland topped the world’s ranking in attracting high-value projects, followed by Denmark and Singapore.

In terms of jobs created relative to population size, Hungary finished ninth, as 18,900 jobs were created, the highest annual figure since 2008.

Among European capitals, the number of jobs created through foreign direct investment was the fourth highest in Budapest in 2016, said Róbert Ésik, head of the state investment promotion agency HIPA.

HIPA’s main goal is to see a shift in the number of projects from “Made in Hungary” to ”Invented in Hungary,” he added.

Ésik said Hungary has become a successful location for manufacturing but work is under way to make the country more attractive as a location for research and innovation.
