'How To Be Funny', Brody Studios, 11 November
A comedy workshop with comedian Dave Thompson.

Develop the ability to relax and generate laughter. Whether you want to perform stand-up comedy, or give engaging presentations, making people laugh will boost your success. Find the “place of power” in a room, and be confident with a crowd. Explore body language, persona, and rhythm, so your audience wants to know what happens next. Learn about joke structure, and how to reveal jokes that already exist.

Persona:
Your persona is the lens through which the audience sees your material. A persona that’s clear can make poor material hilarious. A persona that’s hard to understand can make brilliant material dull. A slight adjustment to your presence on stage can make a huge impact.

Who can attend?
Anyone who wants to try stand-up. Those who want an injection of confidence at public speaking. Comedians and actors who want to be funnier. People who want a fun way of improving their English.

Being funny: HUF 3,000 (Students)
Being very funny: HUF 4,500 (Everyone else)

Who’s running it:
Dave Thompson has performed stand-up comedy in over 34 countries. He’s sold jokes to many famous comedians, and has written for TV in the UK, Germany, and America. He appeared in four comedy feature films, and numerous TV shows. Dave regularly hosts the comedy shows at Brody Studios.
