500th Heart Transplant Performed In Hungary

The 500th heart transplant operation has been performed in Hungary, at the Semmelweis University, saving the life of a 24-year-old man who had been in the final stage of his life due to heart dysfunction.
The first successful heart transplant was performed in Hungary at the Városmajor Heart Clinic 25 years ago. Professor Zoltán Szabó performed it.
