Weather Service Issues Snow Alert For Most Of Hungary
The national weather service issued a snow alert for most of Hungary on Friday, and additional warnings have been put out in several counties due to freezing rain and ice.

More than 5cm of snow is expected in the larger part of Hungary by midnight and over 10- 15cm in the south-east and southern areas, the weather service said. A first-degree (lowest) alert has been issued for all counties except for Győr- Moson-Sopron and Vas.

A first-degree alert has been issued due to freezing rain in Baranya, Bács-Kiskun, Békés, Csongrád, Tolna and Somogy counties. Snowfall will be interspersed with sleet and frozen rain in the south-west and south.

Temperatures are forecast to be between -5 and 0 degrees Celsius during the day and between -2 and -9 C in the evening.

Budapest Airport’s flight information showed on Friday before noon that Ryanair had cancelled its midday and evening flights from Dublin to Budapest and British Airways cancelled an early afternoon flight between London and Budapest.
