Mostly Foreigners At Local Baths Recently
The number of guests visiting Budapest baths increased by some 20% in March, business daily Világgazdaság reports.

In the winter months, foreign visitors accounted for 70-90% of the daily traffic at the Széchenyi and Gellért baths.

Thermal baths have become an even greater tourist attraction than previously, as more than 60% of foreigners visit them at least once during their stay in Budapest.

TripAdvisor found that, after the House of Parliament and Buda’s Fishermen’s Bastion, the Széchenyi baths are the third most popular tourist destination in Budapest.

The age composition of guests tilted towards the younger generation.

The majority of guests in 2010 were older than 60 years, but now most are less than 30, said Szilvia Czinege, marketing director of the Budapest bath operator BGYH.
