Update: High Turnout For General Election
By 6.30pm on Sunday, 68.13 percent of all voters, over 5.36 million people, had cast their ballot in Hungary’s parliamentary election, according to the National Election Office (NVI). Turnout in Budapest was 72.75 percent, it was lowest (63.55 percent) in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County, in the northeast. The NVI did not report a turnout figure at 6.30pm four years ago.

At 1pm on Sunday, 42.32 percent of all voters, around 3.3 million people, had cast their ballot in Hungary’s parliamentary election, the National Election Office (NVI) reported - a record for recent years. 

Turnout was the highest (45pc) in Pest County at 1pm, and the lowest (37.7pc) in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg, in the north-east.

In Budapest it was 45.52 percent, with turnout at 1pm in 2014 being 34.33 percent and 35.88 percent in 2010.
