Defence Minister: New Helicopters To Cost HUF 100BN
The Hungarian government will pay 100 billion forints (EUR 302.9m) in instalments for 20 new helicopters from Airbus, Defence Minister Tibor Benkő told public broadcaster M1.

Benkő said that the price would include training for 50 pilots and other technical staff, as well as spare parts for the H145M helicopters.

The minister said that the new aircraft could carry ten people including the pilot, and could be used for training, reconnaissance, rescue, or military operations.

He added that the military would continue to use its ageing Mi-8 and Mi-17 helicopters, too, until 2022-2024.
