Re-Elected Turkish President Erdogan To Visit Budapest
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visits Budapest within a few months, returning Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s gesture, who attended his inauguration in Ankara this week, Turkey’s new ambassador, Ahmet Akif Oktay told journalists on Thursday.

According to Hir TV‘s article, Erdogan is going to officially inaugurate the renovated tomb of Gül Baba.

The ambassador said that the Turkish government appreciates Orban’s visit very much, because he was the only EU head of government who attended the event (and Bulgarian President Rumen Radev was the only head of state from an EU member country).

Ahmet Akif Oktay stressed that Western worries are baseless, because the Turkish constitution secures fundamental rights, democratic principles and the secular state. “Democracy is a fundamental part of the Turkish Republic,” he added.

He praised the Turkish-Hungarian relations, added that there are no conflicts between the two countries and Hungary is an important ally in the European Union.
