Local Opinion: Paparazzi Photo Of PM’s Daughter
With reference to a photo of the PM’s daughter, a columnist in the leading left-wing daily accuses the government of ignorance and arrogance. A Marxist philosopher calls on the Left to leave family members of politicians out of political skirmishes.

Early this week, left-wing media outlets published a paparazzi photo of Ráhel Orbán, PM Orbán’s eldest daughter, leaving a plastic bag allegedly filled with used diapers at the side of a highway rest area in Croatia. The picture has been shared by several left-wing politicians on social media.

In Népszava, Judit Doros writes that the photo destroys the Orbán family’s reputation.

The left-wing columnist goes so far as to claim that the snapshot of Ráhel Orbán’s misdeed illustrates the shamelessness and arrogance of the government’s Programme of National Cooperation.

In Doros’s interpretation, the bag left on the roadside shows that Fidesz and its hinterland have no respect for the law and lack basic human decency. She wonders if the photo will stir a huge public uproar and spark a broad anti-government uprising which could even sweep away the Orbán government.

In Heti Világgazdaság, Gáspár Miklós Tamás finds it a shame that left wing people are using the photo of the PM’s daughter for political purposes.

The Marxist philosopher and staunch critic of Fidesz argues that Ráhel Orbán is not a public figure, and thus it is against basic norms of decency and taste to crucify her for a small mistake in the hope of reaping political advantage.

Tamás calls on left-wing journalists and politicians to focus on corruption rather than tasteless stunts involving the family members of politicians.
