CÖF Films Cost More Than Son Of Saul
Pro-Fidesz NGO the Civil Unity Forum (CÖF) spent most of the Ft 508 million it received from state energy company MVM to produce four short films promoting its activity, website Átlátszó reports.

The amount exceeds the budgets of recent international award-winning feature films Son of Saul, which cost Ft 450 million, and On Body and Soul, which cost Ft 420 million.

MVM refused to reveal why it gave the huge donation to the CÖF until Átlátszó won a lawsuit.

After inspecting the relevant documents at MVM, Átlátszó reported that a large part of the subsidy was spent on four short films produced by Magno Studio, a company close to Fidesz, for which CÖF paid Ft 433 million.

The four short films were aired by the channels of the TV2 group on 35 occasions between April and June, 2017.
