Hungary’s Sziget Festival Highly Profitable This Year
Profits at festival organiser Sziget will probably reach Ft 1.5 billion this year, matching its record performance achieved two years ago, CEO Tamás Kádár told Népszava.

The main event, August’s Sziget Festival in Budapest, attracted 565,000 visitors, some 5-10% fewer than two years ago.

Other events organised by Sziget are the Volt festival in Sopron, the Balaton Sound event in Zamárdi and the smaller Gourmet festival.

It also staged a free event for children, the Gyerek Sziget, sponsored by insurance company Generali.

Ticket prices for the 2019 Sziget scheduled for August 7-13 will rise by less than 10% and will be on sale from October 1.

Ed Sheeran has already been confirmed as one of the leading star performers.
