International CineFest In Miskolc, 14 – 23 September
Each year, every September, film professionals and audiences have a chance to see the most outstanding films from around the world, some of them being Hungarian premieres.

From the organisers: In the last 12 years the Jameson sponsored CineFest became the most well-known and, according to many, the most popular film festival in Hungary.

The competition program matches that of the leading European festivals and the most important premieres are brought to Hungary by the CineFest.

This year the legendary director, Krysztof Kieslowski and his Three Colors trilogy is in the focus of the CineClassics program.

The first film, the Golden Lion winner Three Colors: Blue will be screened in the presence of Juliette Binoche. The other programs of the CineClassics are just as exciting: we honor the memory of Zoltán Latinovits who died 40 years ago.

The DVD release and screening of Károly Makk’s digitally re-mastered masterpiece Love will be here and last year’s big success the genre centered screenings continue as well.

This year the greatest masters of horror are put into focus, with Wes Craven, George A. Romero, John Carpenter and others.

Last year’s big success, the International Film Market of Miskolc will be organized for the fifth time together with several other events for Hungarian filmmakers and producers.

Discussions, Q&A sessions, animation and documentary programs are waiting for those who visit Miskolc during the Festival.
