China Eastern To Start Direct Budapest-Shanghai Flights
The world’s seventh largest airline, China Eastern, will operate direct flights between Shanghai and Budapest from next summer, Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Péter Szijjártó told state news media after talks in Shanghai.

China Eastern aircraft will fly between the two cities four times a week.

The number of Chinese tourists visiting Europe is expected to grow by 70% in the next five years, Szijjártó said, stressing that Chinese tourists are among the biggest spenders.

The number of Chinese visitors to Hungary was up 14% year-on-year in the first eight months and is set to rise to 250,000 by the end of the year.

The latter figure is twice as high in the Czech Republic, which has direct flight links to three Chinese cities, Szijjártó noted.
