River-Crossing Boat Line In Operation On Inner City Section Of The Danube Until Christmas
BKK strives to integrate boat lines into the public transport service offering more and more intensively.

As a part of this effort, boat services will be launched to provide river-crossing options in the city centre. Boat line D2 will enter service on 12 November and it will operate until 23 December on the Kossuth Lajos tér–Batthyány tér–Várkert Bazár- Petőfi tér route. Passengers require a daily travelcard, a pass or a boat ticket.

Until Sunday, 11 November 2018, lines D11 and D12 will be operating per the autumn schedule thanks to the fine weather conditions.

Monday, 12 November 2018, is the first day of the new schedule according to which boat services will be available every day of the week with special focus on providing short rides to connect Pest and Buda, which were a popular option to cross the river between Batthyány tér in Buda and Kossuth Lajos tér in Pest during the closure of Kossuth Lajos tér metro station on line M2.

BKK’s boat service schedule is planned to be in effect from 12 November 2018 until Christmas, as follows:

Boat line D2 will be launched between Petőfi tér and Kossuth Lajos tér piers serving also Várkert Bazár and Batthyány tér. During the morning peak hours from 7:30, boats travel every 20 minutes between Kossuth Lajos tér and Batthyány tér connecting the two riverbanks.

Thereafter during the day and at weekends from 9:30 to 16:00, the line operates on an extended route between Kossuth Lajos tér and Petőfi tér. Daily travelcards, passes and single boat tickets are accepted for travel.

In addition to D2, there is a single southbound morning departure of line D11 on workdays from Újpest, Árpád út to Boráros tér H (Petőfi híd) pier, going back north in the afternoon.
