Hungary Central Bank Hikes Base Rate by 30 BP to 2.40%

Hungarian central bank rate-setters hiked the base rate by 30 basis points to 2.40% at a regular policy meeting on Tuesday.

The National Bank of Hungary’s Monetary Council also raised both sides of the interest rate corridor by 30 basis points to 4.4%.

Hungarian central bank (NBH) rate-setters cut the base rate by 50 basis points to 7.75% at a regular policy meeting. The Council also decided to lower the symmetric interest rate corridor in tandem, bringing the O/N deposit rate to 6.75% and the O/N collateralised loan rate to 8.75%.
