120,000 Train Tickets Given to Refugees from Ukraine in Hungary
State railway company MÁV-Start issued 119,000 free tickets to those fleeing the war in Ukraine, worth Ft 152 million, by March 17, HVG reports.

The railway company said almost half of the tickets issued so far are for Budapest, with most people travelling to Nyugati and Keleti stations.

Most refugees are travelling on to Austria, Germany and Poland.

MÁV runs a special train every four hours between Záhony, on the Ukraine border, and Keleti station.

As the vehicles are provided by mobilising reserves, the special service does not typically affect scheduled services.
