New Zealander Receives Hungary’s First Walletmor Chip Implant
Plastic surgeon Mihály Újhelyi informed Portfolio in letter that he has carried out Hungary’s first Walletmor chip implant, inserting the chip in a New Zealand businessman.

The operation was performed under local anaesthetic, and took about 10 minutes.

After the operation, the patient paid with the chip, since it works immediately after implantation.

With the chip linked to his bank account the businessman can use contactless payment technology to purchase goods and services with a wave of his hand.

The price of the chip is about €200 and the surgery costs €150.

The chip must be registered with the account opened at iCard, activated with a code, and topped up by bank transfer or another bank card.
