Rare Roman-Era Doctor’s Grave & Equipment Found in Hungary
Archaeologists have found a doctor’s grave and a full range of medical equipment dating to the first century AD, close to Jászberény, in Jász county.

The archaeologists from Eötvös Loránd University, the Jász Museum and the Eötvös Loránd Research Network unearthed Bronze Age and Avar finds in the first phase of the excavations last year.

László Borhi of Eötvös Loránd University stressed that such a complete range of medical equipment is very rare both within and outside the borders of the Roman Empire.

He expressed hope that ongoing genetic tests will shed light on the origin of the doctor.
