HU-GO Toll System Generates HUF 2.5 Trilion in Revenue

The distance and emission-based HU-GO electronic toll system for vehicles over 3.5 tonnes using motorways, expressways and main roads has generated over HUF 2.5 trillion of revenue since it was put into service on July 1, 2013, system developer i-Cell said yesterday, according to origo.hu.

The company said the HU-GO system now covers 7,300 km of roads, up from an initial 6,500 km in 2013.

In 2022, 430,000 vehicles paid around HUF 355 billion in tolls compared to 380,000 vehicles paying an annual HUF 163 bln at the launch of the system.
