Warning Tax Dodgers: Authorities Ramp Up Spot Checks in Hungary During WAC

Hungary’s National Tax and Customs Authority (NAV) is carrying out more spot checks while the capital hosts the 2023 World Athletics Championships.
Staff are checking for compliance with rules on the issue of invoices and receipts and on employee registration, NAV said.
They are scrutinising taxis and catering establishments and are on the watch for knock-off merchandise at souvenir sellers, the authority added.
NAV is stepping up its spot checks not only at the athletics worlds venue in the south of the capital, but across the country.
