OTP’s Simple Pay Accounts Hacked in Hungary
Several readers reported to Telex that their OTP Simple Pay accounts had been hacked after 9 p.m. on Tuesday.

Not long after, OTP announced that digital data thieves using stolen username and password combinations on other, non-OTP interfaces had hacked the accounts of thousands of users and changed the registered e-mail addresses using a robotic method.

Due to the lack of access to CVC codes of the bank cards, they could not start any payment transaction from the hacked accounts, so no financial damage occurred, the bank underlined.

In addition, Simple Pay immediately blocked the affected accounts.

Simple Pay said it would file a police report and restore the accounts.

Simple Pay is a payment app created by OTP, which groups together several possible services and can manage purchases of motorway stickers, as well as parking, cinema and train tickets.
