FRED

XPATLOOP is asked to assist the successful sale of FRED pictured below nearly new (7,000 miles) on July 22nd 1989; this was the day FRED was purchased by his owner Jock MacKenzie. Soon after he was purchased, FRED was given a personalised number plate 4 FKR to ensure he never dated.

First registered in UK in December 1987, FRED a BMW 750 iL has now become a “Classic Car”. With a genuine BMW service history of around 160,000 miles and UK MOT until 2005, the right hand drive FRED retired to Szentendre Hungary and was de-registered with DVLC Swansea in October 2005 as “off road” in retirement in a garage in the hills.

Between 1991 and 2005 FRED and his owner loved to travel back each summer for his annual MOT with Lovett’s in Swindon. It was a regular overnight drive from Budapest leaving at around 21.00 and arriving for the 09.00 Hovercraft to Dover and straight to Lovett’s for some further TLC. The main work was always managed from Hungary, but Lovett’s always managed to find some little extra detail! FRED’S 300HP engine and tailored suspension and gearbox made light work of long journeys.

FRED still has many long term service friends in Budapest including Gábor Gaál (the long time mobile service engineer from Wallace BMW Budapest) who always attended to winterise FRED, look after his man-sized computer, engine and ensure his batteries were replaced when required. Gábor is happy to continue looking after FRED with new ownership.

Today FRED seeks a new and careful owner as the garage in which he has lived for several years is required for growing family extras.
