Popular downtown venue Gozsdu Courtyard (Gozsdu Udvar) is to hold a street music festival between May 30 and June 20. Events will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and lesser known Hungarian musicians are invited to compete for a prize of 500,000 forints (EUR 1,625), which will be awarded based on ‘likes’ by the audience. more »

The story of the young peasant girl who led an army to help crown a king and was burned at the stake for her efforts, the play incorporates Joan of Arc’s own words from letters, chronicles and testimony at her trial to create the living story of a fearless teen who was bound by her oath to God. Movement, voice and sound come together in a series of fast-paced short scenes that flow like a live-action montage and switch genres and settings in a flash. Budapest Art Factory (BAF) is proud to present the art of its May guest artists. Throughout the one-month sojourn, two American artists, John Chiara and Damian Stamer, developed new series of works which will be introduced to the Hungarian public on May 31, 2017, 6-8 pm within a two-person exhibition. As part of the residency program and accompanying event, an emerging talent from Cyprus, Nikolas Antoniou, displays his paintings within the studio show taking place at the guest atelier. As usual, visitors are welcome to view the studios of Dóra Juhász, Márta Kucsora, and Sándor Szász - the artist circle of BAF. more »
