'Book Festival', Budapest Vörösmarty Square, 2 - 5 June

The 82nd Festive Book Week and 10th Children's Book Days was held from 2  - 5  June. 
In all, 99 Hungarian and 18 foreign publishing houses  offered 375 new titles.
The central venue of the event was again in downtown Budapest at  Vörösmarty tér.

'The Terracotta Army', Vam Design Center Budapest, 31 May

"210 bc emporer Qin Shihuangdi died. Still during his lifetime he ordered his magnificent tomb. Because he was the first and also the last relative of his imperial dynasty meant to last for 10,000 years, his tomb was easily forgotten. In 1974, farmers in Xian, in the Chinese province of Shannxi found the tomb of the first emporer when digging for a fountain. Nobody believed the news of a huge and life size army on naturally crafted terracotta warriors. In the meantime this treasure has been declared a world cultural heritage by the UNESCO in 1987."

The five star Sofitel Budapest is home to the Paris Budapest restaurant, where on Friday 27 May 2011 the head chef Andreas Mensch and vintner Peter Pohi came together to create a superb dining experience. The menu with wines was as follows:
