'Suits on Bikes' charity cycle ride, through Transylvania, 7– 10 September
|
Each of the five expat cyclists had to endure the physical rigours of the 1,700 kilometre event, and personally raise 10,000 Euros each as part of their commitment to 'Suits on Bikes' - a registered charity particularly focusing on people’s physical and spiritual needs in Central Eastern European countries.
Riders in 2006: Ken MacKenzie, formerly the Presbyterian Minister in Budapest and now Minister to Queen Elizabeth II for Scotland, Adrian Gray, GM of Le Meridien in Budapest, Charles Taylor, Head of Office Cushman & Wakefield and Alistair McLeish, Chairman of Mmd Corporate, Public Affairs & Public Relations Consultants will be joined by newcomer to this initiative, Richard Pelly, currently Managing Director of Structured Asset Finance for the UK Bank, Lloyds TSB and previously Chairman & CEO of Budapest Bank in Hungary for 6 years.
"This was the best year yet. The route worked , the weather was marvellous , the team worked brilliantly. It was very rewarding to revisit projects we had supported and see the progress they had made. We are already looking forward to next year", said Alistair McLeish.
